Starpoint was founded in 1968, initially manufacturing electro-mechanical timers for the established vending and emerging amusement industries. With the introduction of the microprocessor, Starpoint developed its first reel mechanism utilizing stepper motor technology in the early eighties. Through continuous innovation and product development, Starpoint rapidly grew to be the number one supplier of reel mechanisms throughout the UK and Europe. Now, through dedication, new product development and superior customer communications, Starpoint supplies every major U.S. OEM with reel mechanisms designed specifically for their individual use.

In October 2006 Starpoint merged with the Suzo-Happ Group in order to secure Starpoint’s market position and strengthen the distribution of its products. The extensive market knowledge of Suzo-Happ Group along with the combined expertise in design and engineering and the manufacturing excellence of Chinatec, (a Chinese manufacturer that joined the group in 2008) led to the development of the new, exciting line of “Feature” based Toppers. These Toppers offer superb exterior styling and contain existing electronic displays and reel mechanisms, together with new mechanical display feature units.

Suzo-Happ Group and Starpoint protect intellectual property with a large portfolio of granted and applied for patents. These patents are leading to new and innovative reel mechanism designs which will allow our customers to enhance their game value to the player.
